The History of TWCP
The founder of The Wounded Child Project is Brenda High , the mother of Jared High. After losing Jared to “Bullycide” in September 1998, and creating a memorial webpage for her son, (www.jaredstory.com), Brenda began to hear from students, parents and survivors of bullying about what they are going through each day in their schools as well as what they are experiencing later in their lives because of bullying.

About Bullies and Bullied Children
Bullies, harassment and assaults are running rampant in Schools. Harassment, teasing, rivalry, ridicule, emotional or physical violence can lead to depression and low self-esteem, problems that can traumatize a child into adulthood and affect a student, and their family, for the rest of their life.  The act of being bullied tends to increase some student/victims' isolation because their peers do not want to lose status by associating with them, or because they do not want to increase the risks of being bullied themselves.

Below we define the definition of "Bully" and "Terror", according to Webster's Dictionary...
Bully (bööl'ë)
1. A person who is habitually cruel, especially to smaller or weaker people.
2. To intimidate with superior size or strength.
3. A person who tryannizes the weak.

Terror (tër'-er)
1. Intense, overpowering fear.
2. Something, as a terrifying object or occurrence, that instills intense fear.
3. The ability to instill intense fear.
4. Violence prompted by a group to achieve or maintain supremacy.

Now Think of This...
When a child is being bullied they know what a terrorist is... they experience it everyday at school. When a child is being bullied and no one comes to their aid, that child feels like their school doesn't value them as an individual. There are a lot of frustrated, hurt, and wounded children coming out of our schools today and we have let our children down by not doing anything to stop the bullying.
